WHAT MAKES YOUR BRAND UNIQUE? | Bay Area Brand Photographer

Katie Monroe is a photography and small business coach in the San Francisco Bay Area.

It's important to know what sets you apart from your competition. talking highly about yourself can feel overwhelming, but it is crucial for achieving your goals! do the following exercise first thing in the morning, with a clear mind. Ask yourself:

GET TO KNOW YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE

Identifying your target audience provides a clear focus on whom your business will serve and why those consumers would benefit from your goods or services. You can ask yourself these questions to understand your audience better:

  1. Who is your dream client?

  2. Who do you want to attract as a client?

  3. What value can you provide your clients?

PLANNING YOUR BRAND AESTHETICS

Planning the brand aesthetics may seem overwhelming in the beginning but believe me, it isn’t! Thinking about your brand, answer these questions to get a reflection on your brand style.

  • How do you want your brand to “feel”?

  • What are your current aesthetics?

  • Combining aesthetics + mood

GATHER INSPIRATION AND CREATE A MOOD BOARD

A visual mood board is the backbone of a successful branding session. I recommend taking several days to allow this to unfold. Work on it first thing in the morning with no distractions! This visual component is a huge piece of the shoot so have fun with it, and let it flow. Think portraits, behind-the-scenes, color, texture, inspo, personal ritual, fonts, telling your story, etc!

As a brand owner, you must ask yourself these questions about your brand. These would help you define your brand identity as well as visualize your brand aesthetics and style.

  • What makes you unique?

  • What makes your business unique?

  • What sets you apart from your competitors?
